At the February 2nd, 2025 joint council meeting, the council called for a Special Congregational Meeting to be held on February 23rd, 2025 during worship for the purpose of calling a pastor and approving the compensation package. Separate meetings and votes will be held at each church and a quorum of voting members is required, so please spread the word and be in attendance on February 23rd. – Pete Antonson, Joint Council Chair
The youth will be attending the ELCA Grand Forks Conference Youth Night at Red River High School in Grand Forks Wednesday, February 19. We will meet at NELC at 4:45 pm to carpool. Chaperones needed.
There will be a Benefit Supper for Steve Gylten on Saturday, February 15 at 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Hatton Community Center. Come out & help us support Steve in his fight with cancer. Free Will Donation / Silent Auction. Donations can also be made to the Goose River Bank, PO Box 280, Hatton ND 58240. Any and all Silent Auction items would be greatly appreciated. Those items may be dropped off at the Goose River Bank or Hatton Office. Thank you for your support.

A portion of our offering that goes to the EaND Synod helps support missionaries. 2023 was the 100th Anniversary of the Sudan Mission, the first missionaries to what is now Cameroon and the Central African Republic. Together the church celebrated our on-going partnership with a gathering in Minneapolis.

Donations for Kids Christmas Corner …
Please donate gently used, or new items you no longer want, to this sale. Gifts for men and boys are especially needed (socks, hankies, gloves, etc.) but no other clothing items will be sold. Cash donations are also welcome – please leave them at the church office. Other items needed: boxes, gift tags, tissue paper, and especially gift bags. A donation box will be in the church entry until Dec. 5 for your donations. Volunteers are needed for Friday and Saturday. Please consider being a part of the “Kids Christmas Corner”.
“Kids’ Christmas Corner” is from 9:30 am to 12 noon this Saturday, December 7 at NELC. Children ages 4 years old thru 6th grade are invited to come to shop for Christmas presents for parents, grandparents and special people at a price they can afford. All gifts are $1 or less. Parents are asked to send a list of people your child is shopping for along with their money. Children will be assigned a personal shopper. Parents are invited to have a cup of coffee and a treat in the kitchen while you wait. Sponsored by the NELC Women.
The Youth have 2 wreaths and several sprays left for sale. If you would like to purchase any of them, contact Deb.

NELC has updated their Bi-Laws and Constitution. We will be voting to approve the changes at the Annual Meeting January 26, 2025.
Northwood will be collecting items for the Northwood Food Pantry through the end of November. Items needed:
toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, body wash, pasta sauce, chili, bush beans, hamburger helper, Rice A Roni, juices, soap, cookies, peanut butter, spam, canned chicken, cold cereal, any and all canned goods( multiples of each is appreciated), (no pasta noodles or Ramen needed at this time). Keep in mind most of the clients need only small, single serving cans, not large family size.
